About

I have always loved boats. As a little girl my dad would take me to a local boat storage/ junk yard and I would spend hours daydreaming about restoring the watercraft to their original beauty. As I got older I always jumped at the opportunity to adventure on all the lakes and rivers that northern California has to offer. Friends in Snug Harbor and Swabbies on the Delta,  Summers at the beach in Santa Cruz, White water rafting down the American river, sailing our hobie cat on Lake Tahoe and exploring the local foothills for a good spot to go swimming. If there was water, I was there. I guess it is no surprise that I found my way to San Diego and spent the last 15 years living on Sailboats in Mission Bay. What an Adventure!

I bought my first Boat for $500 and began my boating dream life. Coffee with the sea Lions, hooping for lobsters in the middle of the night, Bike rides to the boardwalk, afternoon sunshine boat naps, It is a lifestyle and I was fully emerged. Project by project I learned to restore and maintain my vessels. I crewed under more experienced captains and have accumulated thousands of sea hours. Little by little I developed my skill sets and ability to be a respected member of the boating community.

As I became more involved in the boating community I realized that my love and ability to sew could be very useful. I invested in an industrial sewing machine and got to work on my first product, The Sailors Hoodie Sunshade. For me, shade is mandatory. My fair skin turns all different shades of red in the San Diego sun and I desperately needed a comfortable place to sit outside. From there I embarked on more canvas and upholstery projects to help myself and my friends to be more comfortable on the water. In the boating industry, if you can’t find it, you make it and that is exactly what I have been doing for the last 6 years.
